Ideas for NC
Others Ideas:
Include Scripture into each meeting, perhaps starting the meetings with a reading
Have testimonies regularly, or perhaps after Mass,
Discuss key saints perhaps a Saint of the Week,
My ideas:
More Praise and Worship (better songs, contemporary Christian)
Continue the Bible Studies,
Start a couple one-on-ones, *involves the pastor greatly*
Lots more prayer, (Rosary or office of the hours)
Create a vision of where we are going with the meetings
Perhaps start a Discipleship Training group
Emphasize humility (not quite sure how, but I think that this would really help. I feel as if others have left due to a sense of pride, where they see us as condescending)
Well any others? Please let me know what you think.

I think that starting a meeting with a reading is .. well, boring. I like incorporating readings, and therefore suggest having one or two people each week share a Bible passage they have found that has particularly touched them. This encourages those who want to participate to open their Bibles at home, and then you are sure that the message is current and a direct link between the lives of the Newman Clubbers and the sacred word.
I think another thing NC could try is "house churches." (Taking a lesson from right next door...) Many members hang out together often anyway, so why not make those fun times more meaningful? Not everyone likes Bible Study, or rosaries, so encourage each person to find a group of people and once a month (or more often) do something together in the spirit of Christ. Cook a meal together, watch a movie, play a sport, pray the rosary, turn cartwheels, whatever. Doing this and actively incorporating Christ in the exercise enriches the experience and helps us to think of Jesus as a friend - which is difficult in his all-powerfulness sometimes. If we can think about Jesus as throwing a frisbee around with us, instead of only being present when we are on our knees, it will help us to connect to him and be a stronger presence in our lives.
Those are just a few for the moment. I am glad that many of you were at that conference and feeling pumped up about evangelizing the world. (If any one of you is as excited as you were last year, it is going to be like a shockwave through STM.) Best of luck in your new ventures!
